Sash and his brother Levi were rescued from a less than ideal living arrangement when they were 6 months old. They were not well socialized and lived in small make-shift pens outside with little to no shelter from the winter weather.
On intake, they were fearful of normal, everyday things. They were terrified to be held by people and had never seen stairs and were too afraid to navigate them. They had never been outside their small pens and didn't know how to function in this new found world of theirs. They had never been indoors and all the new sights and sounds were alarming to them.
Oh, how time heals all wounds!! Sash is almost 2 years old now and is quite the character! He enjoys hiding his toys all over the house. Sash prefers a quiet household where he can hang out with his family and lounge on the couch. He knows commands like sit, stay, shake, and high five!!
Since Sash didn't get to socialize with other dogs at a young age, he has a hard time making new four-legged friends. He does best with dogs his size and smaller as he feels very intimidated by larger dogs. He prefers female friends (he's a lady's man)!
Sash can be a little shy when he first meets you, but he gets attached to his human companions very fast! Sash prefers older children since he likes a quiet house :-) He is almost house-trained, but needs reminding to go out and potty. He is crate trained and weighs about 25 pounds.
