Sophie is a 7 month old Dachshund mix who weighs about 20 pounds.
She was adopted out of a shelter in VA but her new owners feel she needs a home where her owners are home more and have another dog.
Sophie has some fear issues, she won't voluntarily go outdoors and when she is out she is scared. Her owners had a trainer come over with one of her dogs and Sophie did much better. She was actually walking with the dog and had her tail raised. Sophie will definitely have to be placed with at least one other dog in the home.
She does well with house training during the day when her owner brings her outdoors, but does sometimes have accidents at night. They are working on that with her. We feel she would do best with a fenced yard so that when she is out she is safe and can venture out at her own pace.
She is a very sweet dog and doesn't have any aggression issues. We do want to place her in a home without children though because of her fear issues.
