Maggie is a 10 month old Coonhound mix that weighs almost 29 pounds.  She was found running around a kayak take out at the river. Maggie was starving and absolutely horrible looking where she was missing a lot of her hair. Her current foster mom dropped down on her knees and offered her a pretzel. She came right on over and her tail has not stopped wagging yet.

Maggie Loves to kiss, loves to wag her tail all the time and has a great little attitude. She loves to wrestle with the other dogs in her foster home, does not mind the cats, and the foster mom's African Grey has remained unmauled.

When she was brought home she was a little bit like the neighbor's dogs in the movie "The Christmas Story". But she is a quick learner. She now sits for food rather that leaping across the furniture to see if she can have a morsel. She is getting into the routine of going outside, but occasionally has some accidents as her foster mom works a lot! She is working on crate training her at night, this has been a struggle, but they are working hard.  She is a hound dog and loves to let out a holler when she is ready to get up.

Maggie had horrible demodectic mange when we got her. Her mange is improving, but we've got a long way to go before it's healed completely. In the meanwhile, she has been spayed, is up to date on all her shots and is on heartworm medication monthly since she was luckily heartworm negative.

Maggie has a big heart, you can tell she has been abused as sudden movements tend to scare her. But she is adjusting, especially to a scoop of ice cream at night. She's excellent on the leash and loves to walk with tail up, nose down! She ain't nothing but a hound dog....
