Winnie-Winchester roamed a neighborhood for months in search of food and shelter. Noone claimed to know her and she ended up giving birth outdoors to 9 puppies (her "Little Shooters") on 1/22/13. It was a frigid, cold night and she worked hard keeping her pups safe and warm until our rescue was called by neighbors to help. Winnie was emaciated and weak, but she was alive along with her 9 puppies. They were taken straight to a vet's office and received immediate medical attention and treatment. We were thrilled to find out that the puppies were all healthy and that Winnie, although very emaciated, was able to feed them all herself. Winnie proved to be a wonderful mom and was successful in raising her all of her pups, preparing them for adoption!
Winnie is a German Shepherd mix around 18 months old and is in great shape now. She still as a little weight to gain and currently weighs about 60 pounds. Winnie has a wonderful, tolerant personality and is great with children. She loves being with people and get along well with other dogs. She is highly intelligent and energetic and would be a great fit for an active family.
Please consider making Winnie part of your family today!
