UPDATE: Merida is all better!! Her jaw wires are out and she is able to do anything she wants. She has been playing with other dogs and giving LOTS of kisses. You would never know that this little one was injured.
Merida is our little miracle baby. She was hit by a car and her owners couldn't afford to take her to the Vet. She had broken her jaw in 2 places and needed immediate surgery. She now has her jaw wired shut and it has to stay wired for 6 more weeks.
Merida is 3 months old, weighs about 18 pounds and loves everyone!!! She can get her tongue out of her wired jaw to eat and lick everyone she sees. She likes other dogs, but cannot be around them until she is healed from surgery. She also cannot be around small children right away either. She has a wire sticking out the front of her jaw and if it is hit it could hinder her healing process.
Once she is healed she will be able to play with other dogs and kids like she wants to. Merida has such a wonderful spirit and if you didn't see her bandages you would think there was nothing wrong with her.
We want to thank everyone who donated to Merida's medical costs, we appreciate this more than you know. If you would like to adopt her please fill out an application from our website.
