Meet our beautiful Lilla Billa.  She has alot to teach us all.  Lilla was surrendered to us and after a vet exam, we found out that she had severe ear and eye infections.  These infections had been left untreated and caused partial hearing and vision loss.  She had a slightly enlarged heart, arthritis in her spine, and a spot on her lung that was found during an x-ray.  Our little Lilla was sick and we were all so worried for her.

Once Lilla's eyes and ears were cleared up and she started medication for her arthritis, she became a new dog!  We found out that the spot on her lung was cancer and that it was spreading to her trachea.  We didn't know how long Lilla had, but we knew at that time, she was happy and content and that's really all that mattered!

One year later, Lilla is thriving!!  She is 13 years old now and weighs around 15 pounds.  The cancer appears to have stopped spreading for the time being and she shows no signs or symptoms of cancer at all.  She trots around the house, soaks up some sunshine in the backyard, and enjoys going for walks.  She enjoys every moment and teaches us all that we should do the same!  What a remarkable lady she is.

Lilla will stay with her foster family for life.  They are her forever family and she is happy where she is at and loves them very much.  She has 3 four-legged siblings and is a daddy's girl.  The rescue continues to cover Lilla's medical costs, so donations in her honor are greatly appreciated.

Donations can be made via the PayPal link on our website or may be mailed to Surry Animal Rescue at 112 Quail Run Road, Mt. Airy, NC  27030.
