Learn more about the Labrador Retriever.

Kermit is young and handsome with golden eyes. He is loyal and affectionate, rambunctious in outdoor play yet serene in the house. Kermit is about 2 years old, about 70 lbs., neutered, housetrained, and has all his shots. He makes a good guard dog because he is big and has a serious bark when strangers approach--but he stops when told to. Kermit is good with all types of people once he gets to know you, and is particularly attached to his foster father. There are no children in the foster home, and Kermit is probably too strong for smaller children, but he would do well with teenagers. He loves to race around a fenced-in yard to use up his youthful energy and he loves to take the leash in his mouth and take himself on walks! But when he comes in the house Kermit is gentle and quiet, quickly finding his place and settling into a peaceful, full-out-on-his-side sleep. He gets up and follows his master or mistress around the house, and settles at their feet. Kermit lives in a foster home with other dogs and cats, and gets along well with them. One cat sashays around Kermit, flipping her tail in his face. Kermit used to be an escape artist, but he has mellowed and now seems content only leaving the safety of his house and fenced-in yard when he is on a leash. The lucky people who adopt Kermit must be very patient and give him lots of time to switch his devotion and loyalty to them. Fenced in yard REQUIRED.

The first step in our adoption process is completing and submitting an online application. Thank you.
