Abbi is a 8 year old purebred poodle. Her adventure started 4 years ago with being dropped with 5 other poodles at a groomer and never picked up. They think she was part of a "backyard" breading pool. Since she was a rescue she was spayed when her owners adopted her. She has been a wonderful pet and the owners are sad to have to make the decision to try to find her a better home. She is current on all vaccines and is on a heartworm and flea treatment each month. She has just recently been diagnosed with "Psychogenic Polydipsia". Our understanding about this diagnosis is that something in her brain triggers her to think that she needs to drink a lot of water. The owners have tried to limit her intake of water, but during the day while they are working she drinks it all at once and can't hold her bladder all day like she use to do. They hate the fact that she stays in a crate all day and doesn't want her life to be this way. Therefore, she needs to be placed in a home where someone is in and out through the day or someone who does not work at all. We can provide the vet's phone# if you would like to speak to her about the health condition of the dog. The owners do not have cats or children, so we think it would be best for Abbi to not be around them due to her age and lack of exposure.
