Meet Honey Bear! She is fun, playful, and absolutely LOVES to play with other dogs. She was feral for the first year of her life, and is still EXTREMELY shy around all people, especially new ones. She couldn't be touched for a long time. She will now take treats out of your hand, but she won't wait around to be pet. She still needs a lot of work with trusting humans, but is learning from her foster dog siblings. She's ready for the next stage: a home of her very own. She's going to be extremely nervous around people, and will need a home with AT LEAST one other young dog. She's happiest and most comfortable when she's running around, playing with other dogs in her yard.
She needs a quiet, patient, understanding home, somewhere she can continue learning to live in a house that is safe and warm and with people that love her. She's done great adjusting in her foster home. If you put in the time and patience, Honey is the sweetest, most loyal friend. Her tail wags when she recognizes her foster family, and she deserves her own forever home. She's done well with her potty training, and only has the occasional accident. She's had no problem with cats, and unknown around children.
Due to her history of being feral, she needs a good, strong fence. Once she gets used to a new home the risk of her trying to escape and run away greatly diminishes, but due to her trust issues she may take time to settle. We are looking for someone in the Charlotte area to allow for multiple meet and greats so that you can get to know her personality, and she can get to know yours. We really want to spend the time preparing the right person with everything we know about her, and doing everything we can to set you and her up for success. She's worth it.
