Matt is a 12 year old Shih Tzu who currently weighs 12.7 pounds.  This poor little guy has been through so much and deserves to have a home where he can be happy and loved for the rest of his life.  

Matt was found in horrible condition, his hair was extremely long and had matts so bad that it was shaved off in one sheet.  His hair was matted horribly over his right eye that the hair stuck to his eye.  When we got him to our vet he saw that they hair had pulled his eye out of the socket and there was nothing he could do to save it.  This sweet boy was so neglected that he had maggots in his "rear end" area.  

We are so thankful that the man who found him got him to us in time.  He is currently being treated for Lymes and was neutered.  He needs a dental but we wanted to wait and give him time to get over the surgery for his neuter first.  Matt had to stay in the critical care unit of the vet's office for a couple weeks and is finally out in the regular kennel.  

He is adoptable and will need an owner that has cared for older dogs with issues before.  His eye he has now is limited with vision but he can get around good.  His hearing is ok and he has some pep in his step now.  Matt loves to give kisses to his humans but you must be able to tolerate his "stinky" breath.
