Norman is a large dog with a huge heart who is loving, kind, very patient while waiting for his food bowl (not food aggressive), gentle with his foster cats siblings, and is the best smuggler! Although the vet said Norman has a heart murmur (it is not progressing) that does not slow him down. He loves life and people, is a bouncy, happy soul, enjoys rambunctious play with his foster dog sibling , thinks riding in the car is "The Thing To Do!", enjoys daily walks, and loves hugs and smooches (by his ears).
His enthusiasm for life can sometimes get him into mischief. A four foot chain link fence cannot keep Norman from pursuing one of his favorite activities, chasing cars. Now days he stays safe in the large fenced yard with the help of an underground electric fence. Another way Norman gets into mischief is with his problem solving skills (pits are problem solvers). If you think its OK to put leftover dinner in the oven and run an errand, think again. Norman figured out how to open the oven, pull out the pot, and clean it for me. :-)
In spite of his mischief, Norman is quite the charmer, putting his head in your lap or moving his head under your hand so you will pet him. He can be funny and goofy, lying in the yard, wiggling around on his back and peddling his legs in the air. Also, Norman is smart. He has a vocabulary and recognizes hand signals that go with the command [sit, down, (lie down), up (get up from down command), wait, stay, come, shake].
Norman needs a loving family who will include him in their daily lives/activities.
